NextConnect also features an e-mail notification service that informs riders, in
real time, about the status of the bus(es) they usually take.
You can sign up for NextConnect’s e-mail notification feature and you will receive an e-mail in advance of your normal boarding
time that provides the status of your bus in real-time. Riders can sign up to receive these automatic e-mail notifications on a
daily basis or whenever they usually take the bus. For instance, daily commuters can request e-mail notifications for their
morning bus from home and for their return bus from work. Riders can sign up for an e-mail notification account by selecting
‘New Subscriber’ from the Notifications menu. Since your e-mail address is used as your userid, we strongly recommend that
users choose a unique, non-guessable password
simply use your e-mail password) for
registering with NextConnect.
Subscribers can indicate when they’d like to receive the bus status information. They will receive the anticipated departure time of their bus at the selected bus stop, calculated in real time. This feature may be helpful for riders who want to know the status of their bus before they go out to the bus stop. During inclement weather, when buses can be delayed, riders can reduce the time they spend waiting at the bus stop.
Disclaimer: All departure times are based on available data. Buses scheduled 60 minutes or more after the e-mail is sent will not appear in the e-mail notification.
